Experience the stunning golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, one of the largest ergs in the Sahara Desert in Morocco, located between the Ziz Valley and the Algerian border. These spectacular dunes, reaching heights of 150 meters, offer a breathtaking landscape. The town of Rissani, a former stop for trans-Saharan caravans, is a charming oasis in this region.
Day 1: Marrakech – Aït Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Skoura Depart from Marrakech and cross the Tichka Pass (2260m). Visit the Aït Ben Haddou Kasbah and, time permitting, the Kasbah in Ouarzazate. Enjoy a free lunch in Ouarzazate. Continue through the Skoura oasis, Kelaat M’gouna, and the Rose Valley to reach the Dadès Gorges. Overnight at a hotel with half-board.
Day 2: Boumalen Dadès – Tinghir – Todra Gorges – Erfoud – Merzouga Dunes Head to Merzouga, passing through the Valley of a Thousand Kasbahs, Tinghir, Rissani, Todra Gorges, Erfoud, and the Tafilalte oasis. Arrive at Erg Chebbi and the Merzouga bivouac. Enjoy a 1.5-hour camel ride to admire the sunset. Overnight at the bivouac with half-board.
Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Nqab – Tamnougalt – Ouarzazate – Marrakech Wake up early to watch the sunrise. Return to Merzouga on camelback. Head back to Marrakech via Ouarzazate, with an estimated arrival time of 6:30 PM.
